What is marketing? In simple terms it is to communicate or to make known a product or service, and to entice the buyer to purchase or use that product or service. We all know traditional marketing methods i.e. print advertising, direct marketing, telemarketing, and networking to name a few. But how many of us know about internet marketing?
Many of us may have already heard some of the buzz words like Pay Per Click (PPC), email marketing, or search engine optimisation (SEO), and if you are like many business people I meet everyday, the response to internet marketing is simply WHAT THE?
The internet is still new to many people and has proven to be one of the most powerful forms of marketing available. This is not to discount other forms of marketing and there is certainly a best fit for every business. There are no 2 businesses alike and no “one size fits all” marketing solution either. As with all marketing, its all about test measure. You need to review, test and measure any marketing incentive for your business, and if the package fits, wear it. However, don't be scared to dabble in all, a cross mesh or just stick with what works.
So what's different with internet marketing? Why are there so many businesses not including internet marketing as an avenue to communicate their business? Well, nothing really, in most cases just fear, fear of the unknown, too costly, or that it's for the big businesses only! WRONG! Internet marketing is the most affordable and level playing ground for everyone. When you expose yourself to internet marketing you will find that there is no rocket science to it. Internet Marketing is simple. It's all about knowing what's available and how to leverage of it.
So you're probably asking yourself, “But the internet is so HUGE, where do I start?” Simple; right here!
