Do you have friends and family still in Zimbabwe? Here are a few ways you can help them…..
With my parents still stuck in Zimbabwe I have been proactive in finding ways to send them goodies. I have three ways that seem to work very well ….so far. While some of them are not cheap the joy and relief these parcels and envelopes bring our loved ones back home, is immeasurable.

www.shopzim.com This website is growing all the time and currently has all the food basics, some luxury items and an impressive choice of electronic and white goods. I have personally only purchased groceries from them. Based in England, they manage to offer a very personal service. The groceries come from South Africa and if you want a specific product that they do not sell you can request it to be added, which they are happy to do if they are able to. I am currently organizing the third shipment of groceries to my parents. The delivery rates are very affordable with delivery (including customs clearing) to Harare collection depot free and to surrounding areas around $20. All major currencies can be used.

Express Courier International through Australia Post

This one is great for the little luxuries that don’t weigh too much and are not available through Shopzim. A bit more expensive but so far I have not lost any of the boxes. Remember to be careful what value you put on the declaration as they will be made to pay import duties if it is worth too much.

Normal Post

Wax paper (or old fashioned carbon) paper inside a cheap card, has worked very well for me when sending “other” stuff.
