As the runaway winner of the 2010 John Eales Medal, the Australia's Choice 2010 Qantas Wallaby of the Year and recipient of the Rugby Union Players Association Medal of Excellence, David Pocock is an outstanding rugby player and at only 23 years of age is the man the rugby world is watching.

This spectacular rise, incredible talent and fierce determination to succeed is encapsulated in OPENSIDE - MY JOURNEY TO THE RUGBY WORLD CUP, David's insight into the world of rugby union.

David Pocock is not your typical footballer. From his early days growing up in Zimbabwe, immigrating to Australia in 2002 and playing for the Australian Schoolboys, to his 2005 debut with Western Australia's the Force, his call up to the Wallabies in Hong Kong in 2008 and the Tri-Nations series in 2010, David has rapidly secured a pivotal role for himself in the competitive world of international rugby and is held in great esteem by fans and peers alike.

OPENSIDE provides fascinating insight into the man behind the professional rugby player and there is a lot more to him than most would realise, from passionate champion of the rights of the exploited minorities to determined and fearless adventurer and visionary community worker.

Follows key tournaments in rugby throughout 2011: Super Rugby, Tri-Nations, the Bledisloe Cup as well as the highlight of the rugby calendar Ė the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

David Pocock, born in strife-torn Zimbabwe in 1988, is an Australian rugby union player. He is the current Western Force (Perth) and Wallabies no.7 openside flanker, taking over where legendary player George Smith left off. An inaugural Emirates Western Force player, Dave was named vice-captain of the club in 2010 in recognition of his superb leadership skills on and off the field and is touted to be the next Wallabies' captain.
