YOU'RE INVITED TO THE WILDEST EVENT OF THE YEAR!
Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) Foundation is excited to announce its upcoming major charity event, the 2012 Right Royal ‘African' Affair.
The event will be held at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Saturday June 2nd and promises to be a sell out!
This is a wonderful opportunity to re-live your favourite aspects of African culture while supporting Queensland's largest hospital.
Kicking off at 7pm, guests will be treated to a unique African experience complete with exotic food, drummers, dancers and all the sights and sounds of the world's richest and most diverse continent.
RBWH Foundation CEO Peter Treseder said the annual Right Royal Affair is the Foundation's premier fund-raising event, and each year takes on a new theme centred around a different ‘Royal' culture.
“This year will be particularly wild as we embark on a safari through Africa.”
“It's always a fabulous and very different evening and raises vital funds for life-saving medical research conducted at RBWH,” Mr Treseder said.
There couldn't be a better time to celebrate as the Hospital marks its 145th year of providing expert patient care to the people of Queensland.
RBWH is recognised as a leader in the fields of cancer care, premature and seriously ill babies, burns and trauma care, motor neurone disease, stroke, Parkinson's disease, kidney disease, mental health and infectious diseases - just to name a few.
Mr Treseder said that apart from attending the evening, there are a variety of other ways that individuals and organisations can be involved.
“Businesses which sponsor a table or donate goods or services to be auctioned on the night will receive a range of benefits including brand exposure and the opportunity to position themselves alongside Queensland's oldest, busiest and largest hospital. Our auctions are the primary way we raise money at the event, and we are particularly hoping to have a range of items in keeping with our African theme,” Mr Treseder said.
Last year, 740 guests attended the Right Royal ‘British' Affair and the Foundation raised $450,000 for medical research at the hospital.
Organisers are confident that this year’s event will be even more successful, with a target of raising $500,000 to meet the growing needs in healthcare.
