In case you haven't heard ... the Commonwealth Games are being hosted by the Gold Coast in 2018. To me, the best news I've heard in a long time.
It has been reported that the event will inject about $2 Billion into the Gold Coast economy, but that's not even why I think it's good news.
To me it's all about attitude.
For a long time now I've heard people talk about how dead the economy has been. Everyone is struggling, no one is spending money.
As my good friend Ian Scott from Ozz Investments said at our last breakfast at Oxenford: The news tells us that the economy is down, people are losing their jobs, no one is spending money ... as a result everyone stops spending because we're experiencing tough times .... a self-fulfilling prophecy.
So finally some good "news". As a result everyone is more confident. Things are going to turn around. We all believe it because it's on the news. We start spending more money, we are more aggressive in business ... and the economy is kick-started into action again.
It's all in our attitude.
