When I arrived in Australia in August 2007, the first question everyone asked me was: "Who do you support?"

Being a World Cup year, my reply was always the same: The Boks! I was usually given the evil eye and I just assumed it was because I hadn't picked the Wallabies. It soon became apparent I had no idea what they were on about.

The Mitsubishi Lancer has a well known and respected history of competing in the World Rally Championship and the Dakar Rally. These are arguably the two toughest races on the planet, yet Mitsubishi has always managed to stay in the upper echelons of the competitors. One of the primary benefits of being involved in competitive motorsport is that the use of cutting edge technology to keep you ahead of the pack on the race track will slowly migrate south into the road cars, benefiting the consumers.

Recently we've had two reminders of how easily puppies and kittens can become victims of misadventure. Having a completely indoor cat in a high rise apartment, Tiger's owners thought she'd be safe from the perils of an outdoor lifestyle. That was until they forgot to close the veranda door and Miss Curiosity explored the balcony.

Wake up. Get dressed. Feed the kids. Get to work. Handle the emails. Start the projects. Curse the interruptions. You know the deal. That's life, we say. Oh no. Shame! Just like a current advert on TV: That's not life, honey. That's a schedule.

The home of architect Peter Wilkinson and his wife Sue, a senior town planner, is a treasure trove of art and sculpture collected by Peter, while living in Durban. This valuable collection now sits effortlessly alongside inexpensive, quirky pieces in their timber bungalow home in the verdant Tallebudgera Valley of the Gold Coast hinterland.
